Originally created for print, winning the third prize in the Atmosferas Concurso de Ideias Awards enabled us to create an on-screen version, making a new level of user experience and interactivity possible. SeeMusic introduces an unusual and imaginative way of visualising music. SeeMusic explains the history of Western classical music since ancient Greece through symbol and colour. This is presented through the visualisation of several musical pieces from different periods of time. Each one of the visualisations in SeeMusic is a translation of a written piece of music by a composer, the use of symbol and colour is based on the colour theory and philosophical ideas prevailing during the same period of time.
